Introduction	are cousins whose childhood nicknames for each other were Smash and Sniff. The idea for this blog was born when Ash was in La Ceiba, Honduras and Jiff was in Kabul, Afghanistan. A year later, Ash is in Guadalajara, Mexico and is the mother of 7 month old Oscar. Jiff is now in Hamburg, Germany and is the mother of 5 month olds Henry and Amalia. Smashandsniff is our continued correspondence, started as pen-pals at age 9, chronicling life as cousins, expats and now mothers whose interest in culture and cuisine continues to evolve... as we do.
