Introduction	I am a retired high school English teacher, now teaching at the University of Victoria in the Faculty of Education. My teaching career has spanned thirty years, at the high school, college, and university level. I am involved in Victoria's vibrant writing community, have been a featured reader at Planet Earth Poetry, have participated in reading poems to strangers on city streets and in hotel lobbies. My favorite act of guerilla poetry was writing poems on the hoardings in downtown Victoria with my students. I have a daughter, also a teacher, but at the primary level--requires more patience than I ever had. Recently I have fallen in love with a piano I bought at an auction, and am learning to play. Slowly, painfully, but pleasurably.

Favorite Movies	Pride and Prejudice--the BBC version, The Turning Point, The Kings Speech.
Favorite Music	The classics--Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms, Schubert, Dvorak, Verdi and Puccini operas, Recently, Wagner.
Favorite Books	Too many to list, but a few: Life of Pi, The Book Thief, Good Omens, Pride and Prejudice, Come Thou Tortoise, Shakespeare plays, Pilgrim at Tinker Creek, Holy the Firm, Poisonwood Bible.
