| Introduction | I live and work in Austin, Texas; a place that was a small and relatively quiet university town (as well as the state capitol) during the years I grew up here. Austin has changed dramatically since, and in recent years transitioned to an "A market" city with more than a million inhabitants in the Austin Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). I work in technology finance, in the venture capital field and have been engaged in the field of technology for more than 25 years. My experience covers the range of tech career opportunities from the role of individual contributor (software and systems engineering) through supervisory and mid-management to entrepenuer and founder of a venture-funded start-up. I have a family, a wide variety of interests and avocations, and a lifelong collection of diverse experiences including travel in many parts of the world.
