| Introduction | Since I read A Walk In The Woods back in 1999 and 2000 the idea of being able to hike the Appalachian Trail became a dream! Reality along with my Career and Family made me consider Slack Packing versus a Thru Hike. In September 2009 I started my AT Section Hiking with a failed attempt at climbing Katahdin to Baxter Peak in Baxter State Park in Maine. In September 2021 I hiked my last AT mile in PA and completed my 13 year journey. During these 13 years I hiked with 32 others, mostly seniors along with a several ladies. In early 2022 I published my book "Maine's Appalachian Trail How Seniors Made Section Hiking Easier" I've gotten excellent reviews on Amazon. |
