| Introduction | For the last 6 years of my life, I’ve been fortunate enough to work for the greatest police department in the United States, the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC! Often, people Believe men and women become police officers because of a "childhood fantasy" to carry a gun and a badge, order people around, write citations, and lock people up; however, rest assured, for the overwhelming majority of police officers, this simply isn't the case. Although reasoning behind becoming an officer varies from person to person, for me, my reason was quite simple. I became a police officer because “I've always enjoyed helping others.” I know it sounds cliché, but it’s true. The opportunities I have within the MPD are phenomenal and endless, likewise, are my daily interaction within the community. Additionally, I work with some incredible people who share my same feelings towards helping others. As you look through the various postings on this blog, you’ll get an idea of some of the great times I, along with fellow officers, and community leaders, have shared with the community. Finally, to all the residents, thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve you! |
