| Introduction | I am a Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, niece, aunt and cousin. In 1968, I settled in Delray Beach, Florida with my husband where we pursued various professional interests as business owners. I have been a volunteer and loyal community servant for more than 40 years. My community activism began while being raised on a cotton farm with many siblings in Forkland, Alabama during segregation. As a college student at Tuskegee Institute in Alabama, I marched and participated in the Civil Rights Movement. |
