Introduction The Galloping Goose daily ran honking through the back acreage of our silver fox farm in Ridgway, Colorado, where I was born. It was the Rio-Grande Southern narrow-gauge train that ran between Durango and Montrose, a converted ten-passenger 1930 Pierce-Arrow sedan welded to a ten-ton boxcar, and there were seven of them total. They were very formative in our lives, a daily blast of noise and action that made us jump for joy. We'd put pennies on the track to be flattened, and the engineer would always hoot his goosey horn at us. It's because of the Galloping Goose that I have such a passion for drawing and painting old things, and it's because of where we lived in Southern Colorado, in the lee of Uncompahgre Peak, that I have such a passion for painting scenes of the Southwest. This blog has helped me a lot in preparing and selling my artwork, it helps me see what I do.
