| Introduction | I'd been dealing with issues with my colon for about two years when I started having pain. I tried colon hydrotherapy, which worked, but the issues came back. So off to the GI doc I went. We tried some laxatives, and some fiber, and got a X-ray and a CT scan, and then it was time for the colonoscopy (yay). On 8/14/12, the colonoscopy showed a big tumor, so big that the scope couldn't get through it to see the rest of the colon. Surgery was scheduled immediately for 8/30, along with another CT scan. The CT scan showed a 6cm tumor (docs were amazed I was still pooping!) and the cancer had spread to my liver :(I had surgery, which went really well. I ended up not needing a temporary colostomy bag (whew!) and I've been recovering very well. Now the journey begins to deal with the cancer. |
