| Introduction | I've been a resident on planet Earth for six decades. I didn't win any awards. I didn't make a lot of money. I didn't make a significant impact. I'm not sure those things matter much anyway. I feel an abundance of gratitude. I feel blessed that I was allowed to experience the things I did.. I've maintained a sense of genuine wonder despite having had my fair share of hardships. And I was allowed to love a few people. What a magnificent place, or thing, this is. What a gift to be granted a life of consciousness. I apologize if I hurt you or ignored you or made you feel small while I was here. You deserved better. I'm sorry. I did my best to participate, to understand, to learn, to grow. I did my best. I know that sometimes my best wasn't enough to meet your needs. Still, I gave everything I had. Thank you to those who took the time to see me in truth rather than bias. Thank you to the few who stood by me when I was hurting and alone. You made all the difference for me. I'm going to miss this when it's over.. |
