Introduction	I am a published author with numerous short stories to my credit, as well as two books. My writing can best be described as depicting somewhat strange people in perhaps stranger situations. The tone may be 'dark', but that does not preclude hope or redemption. Though most of my writing falls within genre material I aspire to the standards of classical literature in terms of complex character development and the allegorical effect of setting. All my published work is availabe at my website, www.rolandallnach.com. I created this blog not only to share my written works, but to sponsor some discussion on various topics as well. I have quite a few interests, and I read a great deal of history, so I've found that there are many topics for discussion. History, you could say, never gets old.
Interests	Anything that invovles creativity, writing (well, that's obvious), woodwork, computers, landscaping
Favorite books	I'm a big fan of late nineteenth century literature, Tolstoy, Chopin, Dostoevsky, Flaubert (that's going back a little further), and in terms of verse, Shakespeare, Talleyrand, Homer, and in more modern times, Kafka, William Gibson
