About me

Introduction William May (Bill) is a Senior Analyst in the GARP Research Center where his current focus is on board training, banking risk and regulation, and GARP’s global academic outreach efforts. Prior to joining GARP, Bill was an associate professor of finance and graduate program director at Manhattanville College. Bill has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, most recently as Senior Director in Fitch Ratings’ credit market research group. Prior to this, he served as a Senior Research Officer at UBS Wealth Management and has worked for several buy-side and sell-side firms including Bank of America and Federated Investors. He began his career in the research function of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Bill earned a BS in applied mathematics and economics from SUNY Stony Brook; an MBA from Fordham University; and an MS in financial engineering from Polytechnic Institute and is currently working towards a PhD in economics at Fordham University.
