| Introduction | My 'learning with hope' journey began when I became Manager of HOPE KIDS at the Hope Foundation of Alberta. As I began to wonder how making hope visible makes a difference in how we move toward a desired future. When teachers noticed how the experience of using specific hope-focused practices and activities influenced student learning, I began to question the power of hopeful learning environments. My doctoral study, which was a narrative inquiry into two teachers' experiences with hope-focused practices from the Hope-Focused Practices and Activities for Working With Children and Youth resource inspired me to delve deeper into what a narrative pedagogy of hope (LeMay, 2014) enhances quality of life. I continue to make sense of my experiences of making hope visible and accessible in my interactions in a number of educational and community settings in this blog. |
