| Introduction | I am a granddaughter of Warren and Stella Griffith. Mary and David Reed are my parents. My siblings are Mika and Marcus Reed. I work as a Senior Lecturer for the Department of English Writing Program at the University of Arizona. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Oberlin College and my Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. I have been teaching English – academic composition and language acquisition – since 1999 in various settings, including high school in Massachusetts, the UA Center for English as a Second Language in Tucson and in Nogales, Mexico, and Koç University in Istanbul, Turkey. I am an active member of my union, United Campus Workers Arizona. In addition to learning and labor, I enjoy reading, drawing, and photography. I live in Tucson with my husband, Alex Schweig, and Miró, our chaotic tuxedo kitten. |
