About me

Introduction I've been following sports since before the Twins and the Vikings made the Twin Cities (or at least Bloomington) a "world class" city — and doomed the U of M Gophers to second-class status. When I'm not following sports, I'm editing magazines. In the 30+ years I've worked in local journalism, I've been a writer and editor at just about every magazine in town (Utne Reader, City Pages, Minnesota Parent, Twins Magazine, Business Ethics, and currently at Experience Life). I also survived a weird six-month stint in the features department at the Pioneer Press. My wife, Sharon Parker, and I ran The Minneapolis Observer until we ran out of money a couple of years ago and morphed it into a quirky quarterly called MOQ, which has nothing to do with sports — unless you include snowshoeing.
