| Introduction | My friend Heather asked me to write about her new blog where she will provide regular accounts of the sublime discord of her amazing life. I have gotten to know Heather over the last two years, and this is what I know about her: 1. She sneaks up on you, wins you over and finds a permanent place in your head and heart. 2. She followed the rock musical group The Grateful Dead on their frequent national tours, traversing the United States 19 times. 3. She is a single mother with a unique, creative and sharp ten year old son. 4. She is charming, dynamic, empathetic, a little scary with her passion and temper, and poised to break down doors, ceilings and whatever else stands in her way. 5. She is driven. She has become an accomplished runner and triathlete in only a couple of years. She is planning on competing in an Ironman in 2013. She was a smoker for over 20 years, quitting only 6 years ago. In her world, the clock is always ticking.She battles serious health problems. 6. She knows how to write, how to tell a story and how to bring you along. 7. And that is just the beginning. |
