| Introduction | A scientist by training and profession, I was born and brought up in India, educated in India and the USA, and have been taking pictures since my teenage years. I enjoy both wet and digital darkrooms, working in a variety of photographic media: traditional black and white silver prints, infrared film, archival alternative processes, color slide film and digital capture. Having worked in the USA, India and Germany, my scientific career and wanderlust have taken me to the far corners of the world. Author, scientist, photographer, environmentalist, wilderness enthusiast, educator, music and art afficionado, I am also past president, slide chair, webmaster, fine arts chair and editor of the Schenectady Photographic Society and former second vice chair for the Photographic Society of America's Color Projected Imaging Division. I have authored 3 books "A Matter of Density" (Wiley, 2012), "Computational Drug Discovery" (IonCures, 2023) and "Navigating Molecular Networks" (Springer-Nature, 2025), and two photography books ("Essence" and "Integration"). I have also contributed to several other scientific books and publications, lectured and exhibited on science and photography internally. |
