About me

Gender Female
Occupation Librarian
Location Athens, WV, United States
Introduction I am a 44 year old mother of 3. I am divorced and re-married happily. I am a graduate of Berea College and the School of Information at the University of North Texas where I obtained a Masters in Library and Information Science and a Graduate Academic Certificate in Storytelling. I am a part-time academic librarian and a full-time mother, wife and farmer. My kids are 21, 19 and almost 18. You would think that the mother job would now be part-time as well.Rachel the oldest is a Senior at ETSU in Johnson City, TN. We homescooled her from 1st grade on. Billy is a Sophomore at Emory & Henry College where he attends on a full scholarship and is a member of the Honor College and is a Bonner scholar. Matthew, the youngest, has been accepted to E&H and Berea College for a Fall 2012 start to college. He hasn't decided where he will go yet and I have tried really hard not to sing "Berea, Berea, Beloved" whenever he is near. I have lived in the mountains of Appalachia my entire life and will fight with all that is in me to preserve them for my children and grandchildren. This blog is about my life, my children and my desire to save my Appalachian culture and heritage.
