| Introduction | "The fact that I can plant a seed and it becomes a flower, share a bit of knowledge and it becomes another's, smile at someone and receive a smile in return, are to me continual spiritual exercises. ~ Leo Buscaglia" I like to find the secrets hidden in the moments of everyday life. I believe that once upon a time everything in the world had a voice, and every place you walked you could hear the whispers if you listened close enough. I believe the world still whispers. But we have forgotten how to listen. Take the time to listen to the voices around you. Start some place easy, like in an old photo album. Listen to the sounds of your memories, like the voice of your grandfather on his 75th birthday, or the sound of the waves at the beach that summer when you and your younger sister found that baby octopus and that big colorful sea shell that you still have. After that, work up to the voices of places you can only imagine. Ask where to find the street that is supposedly less than 1.5 feet wide, the fountain of youth or visit the Grand Canyon (it's 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide in places and more than 5000 feet deep). |
