| Introduction | I’ve spent my entire adult life focused on family and the internal experience of the life of the ages, a concept often rendered in English translations of scripture as “eternal life.” Yet, I find a new life focus – the public experience of the kingdom of God, a teaching of Jesus closely related to the life of the ages – calling my attention. In keeping with that calling, I’ve enrolled in the Lyndon Baines Johnson School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas. Over the next two years, I hope to gain some understanding of what it might mean for God’s will to be “done on earth as it is in heaven.” Lest this strike fear in some that I speak of a fundamentalist theocracy, I must say that I do not believe an autocratic regime reflects God’s will in heaven or on earth and will probably take that up at some point in this blogging experience. |
