| Introduction | I have kept my poetry extremely private for years. As I get older and ideals change, I no longer feel poetry should be kept private, but shared! If only one person finds comfort in something read here, then it's worth it. There is nothing more powerful than WORDS. To me, actions can often go unseen, but words can't be denied. Cannot be forgotten. Words that speak to you have a way of burning into your brain, your soul and can get you through anything. Life experience is also meant to be shared. Some of these poems go back years, as you'll see from the date at the bottom of each. They are not all about the same person, but many events and places and people through my life (so far). Some come from a direct experience, others from just a spark of a word, image, or thought. Poems here are not written about the imagery with it, I carefully chose the imagery when creating the blog, to give the reader an idea of what I was feeling when I wrote it (as poetry can be vague). I feel extremely lucky to have so many memories forever intensely captured, both good and bad. It's always been a dream of mine to have a book of poems published! |
