Nothing Much, Just Everything

| Introduction | Hi, I’m a slightly sweary, frequently snarky, Teacher of the Deaf, mum of five, and living proof that life can be equal parts chaos and joy. I’m also hard of hearing myself, which means I get to experience the world from both sides of the conversation. Most days I’m out on outreach visits supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing kids and their families, navigating hearing aids, tiny humans, big emotions, and the occasional moment where I just have to stop and think, you genuinely can’t make this shit up. Other days, I teach Auslan. When I’m not working, I’m usually parenting my own big army, wondering how the house got this messy and my life somewhat out of control, while surviving on a carefully balanced diet of chocolate, margaritas, sarcasm, and stubborn optimism. This space is where I share the stories — the funny ones, the ridiculous ones, the “did that actually just happen?” moments from Deaf education, mum life, and everything in between. Because honestly? Most days it’s nothing much. Just everything. And somehow I can still find the humour in it all. |
