| Introduction | In April I received a phone call from one of the members of FBC Guthrie asking if I would come preach for a time while they wait on God for direction on a new pastor. Since then my wife Ann, and two daughters have been humbled by the warm and gracious welcome and the love shown to us at this community of faith. I came to faith in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour at a small Baptist Church in Austin, Texas in 1976. I have an associate degree in Automotive Technology from TSTC in Waco, a BA in Education from Wayland University. I have studied through distance learning at Dallas Theological Seminary. Guthrie Baptist Church is my fourth church to minister at. God has called me to minister as an interim and bi-vocational pastor. I teach Industrial Technology at Childress High School to pay the bills. The driving force in my life is to know the Truth of God's Word, live a life in the light of that truth, and share what God teaches me with others. What He is teaching me these days is: When I try, I fail, when I trust God, He does amazing things. |
