| Introduction | I left Indianapolis, Indiana and relocated in Lakeland, Florida in November, 2012. Arriving in Lakeland I was accepted as a violist in the Imperial Symphony Orchestra and in July 2013 joined the Imperial Symphony Orchestra Guild as a member of the board. Previously, I played violin with a number of community orchestras in Indianapolis including the Indianapolis Philharmonic, an all volunteer orchestra similar to the Imperial Symphony. I studied violin with Dr. Samuel Siurua from the age of 9 until I graduated from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis. After a 6 year hiatus studying Anthropology at Indiana University and volunteer teaching in Africa I took up the violin only to leave it behind in graduate school and for many years that followed. The 2006 Indianapolis International Violin Competition brought an enormous number of great young violinists to Indy. Hearing their performances re-inspired my interest in violin. When I retired in 2007 I took up the violin again. In 2010 I took up the viola which has become my instrument of choice. Recently I begin studying Celtic and traditional violin. |
| Favorite music | My greatest musical interest is in Baroque and Classical Chamber music followed now by traditional fiddle music. My favorite composers now have expanded far beyond Bach, Vivaldi, and Mozart. |
