| Introduction | Dummy Zero™ is the moniker I use as the original creator of the Dummies concept that launched the For Dummies® books (now owned by Wiley) which today has over 220 million books in print and over 1,600 titles in 30 languages. I also coined the Dummies tagline ” A Reference for the Rest of Us“. I was a commercial writer then tried my hand at writing greeting cards for Hallmark, American Greetings, and others. I mostly got rejection letters. I may still have some of those in a box somewhere. I got this idea for a book that would simplify complex subjects and be fun and entertaining to read. So I formed a publishing company and decided to self publish. That's the Reader's Digest version of my story. But that's how the For Dummies® concept was born.
