| Introduction | I'm a little person and I live in a wonderful but mysterious house. My windows are blue and brown and the shutter's open by themselves in the morning. Sometimes, I wish they wouldn't because I find sleep sweet to my soul. But the morning light is invigorating and a reminder that the world is waiting for adventure. My doors are pearly white with red curtains that I'm finding more and more should only be opened after I've thoroughly refreshed myself and eaten well from the food that is not bread alone. Why? I'll tell you but you musn't tell another -- I've found that if I don't, a ghastly dragon emerges from those doors pushing past me and I can't drive him back. He's terrible! The only way to subdue him is to eat that food for then I am stronger and he can't push through. I keep it a secret now, but as I grow stronger and stronger I notice he grows weaker. One day he will be conquered and my King will be free to roam the palace without harm. I look forward to that day. But now, I wait, and continue to eat of that feast, and enjoy the days of adventure. I'm also exploring the palace, it's much more exciting than I ever knew, there are secret rooms and passages I never knew existed. |
