Introduction	After leaving my native Germany, I got introduced to birding upon joining the Bird Club (for whatever reason) at the University of Aberdeen, UK, where I completed my BSc degree in Biology. Thereafter, I moved to the US, Athens, GA, where I obtained my PhD at the University of Georgia. Currently, I am resident in the Washington-DC. area where I work as a biochemist at the National Institutes of Health. These days much of my birding is kept local and the Blue Mash Nature Trail in Rockville is my dedicated 'patch' at this time.
