| Introduction | I'm a DIY addict, crafter, gardener & party-planner. I aspire to become a half-ass seamstress, baker & cake decorator one day. (I like to set the bar really low so I can always feel successful.) I like the occasional cocktail, although anything over 3 & my various body parts remind me of all my chronic health conditions, which includes Lyme disease. I am generally a home-body & hate leaving the house because it means I have to put on a bra. However, my first response to "Let's take a trip" is always "when do we leave?" even before I ask the destination. My husband & I live in a 60+ year old house that we bought from HUD 25 years ago. We remodeled it enough to make it inhabitable. And then in 2016, the Universe gifted us with an extensive plumbing leak & a subsequent outbreak of MOLD. The insurance didn’t cover all the repairs (because sometimes there are pre-requisites) and we were forced to DIY what we could so we could use the insurance money on things we couldn’t DIY. I’ve decided to document the rest of our repairs in hopes it will make me more accountable so we can finally finish this fucking house. |
