| Introduction | Sometimes, I meditate. I say a Hail Mary every time a plane takes off, and I keep a Native American prayer pouch filled with stones and sacred keepsakes next to my bed. I know more about the prophet Muhammad than I do Jesus Christ. I have called out to my mom's psychic for help when I ache, and I believe in the interconnectivity of life. I do not believe in coincidences. I thank god, and I knock on wood. I look for signs. I trust poetry. Words are my passion. I have never seen a ghost (unless ghosts are just memories). My mantra is "I am." I believe love is why we are here. And sometimes, I burn sweet grass and let the swirling smoke carry my prayers to the heavens with hope that they will be heard. ------------------------- I love lemons, pencils and pens, nice paper, blackberries, the Dallas Cowboys, coffee, sweatshirts, getting sunburned, long car rides, Rome, Chicago, rain, girls nights, a good cocktail, poetry, organization, lists, iced tea. |
