Introduction	I've heard it said that people change careers at least once in their lives. Here I am, after nearly four decades in journalism, embarking on a new career in the field of psychology. I am revelling in being able to help people to help themselves and in coordinating a bunch of amazing volunteers at the Hout Bay police station who give emotional first aid to victims of crime. But even though I am now a professional freelance counsellor and trainer, I will never lose my passion for the written word. Or my passion for our wild and wonderful world.
