| Introduction | I am a Master Sergeant with the Vermont Mounted Response Unit (www.horsepatrol.org). My partner and I train all of the state's police horses, and we also train civilian horses at our ranch in Bristol (www.catamountranch.com). We train horses of all breeds, but our own herd consists entirely of Rocky Mountain/Kentucky Mountain horses. (Nine of them.) Most of our Rockies are trained air scenters, and can sniff out firearms, drugs, etc. from up to TWO MILES out. They don't tire the way the dogs do, and they have six times as many scent receptors as the very best bloodhound. Other stuff, since this is the "About Me" section and not the "About Horses" section: I also run a freelance web design / editing / writing business. I have a MS in Internet Strategy Management, with a specialty in information architecture and SEO. I share my house with two dogs, three cats and a male human. (The herd has to live outside.) |
