| Introduction | My name is Laurie Seel. I live in the Interlake region in Manitoba. Everyday I get to wake up and look onto one of Manitoba's beautiful lakes. I have the most amazing family and friends. My long-time co-workers and valued clients, who have become part of my family, also inspire me. I have a very satisfying career. I count myself lucky. I was recently diagnosed with lung cancer, but I still count myself lucky because I am strong. I can fight this horrible disease. As my daughter's favourite author, Jane Austen, once wrote: "My courage always rises at every attempt to intimidate me.” This blog is an attempt to give voice to what is happening on this journey to wellness. So often, people lose their voices and become identified with the illness that is attempting to overcome them. I will not let that happen. This is my story ... |
