Introduction Wife, Mommy, Writer--keeping busy and trying to get it all together in a hectic life and still have time to cuddle my son and husband. I finally graduated with my Master's Degree in English, leaving me free to search for a position teaching college English, whether at a local community college or online. And now that I am free from school assignments, I am happily reading, writing and watching movies for sheer pleasure! Another bonus of finally being free from academia (as a student, at least, for now) is that I am now able to be active in the lives of my family, and am able to volunteer with Cub Scouts and at our son's school, getting active with the community and the world around me, beyond the cyber world that has been keeping me sane throughout my school years.
Interests My family, our cats, our house and LIFE! I am obsessed with movies--watching them, studying them, writing them --my dream is to win an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. It can happen! I love photography and wish I had better equipment, but I have fun with the digital and 35 mm cameras I now have. One of my priorities beyond just movies is learning about other cultures in hopes of traveling someday to all the places I have dreamed of visiting! I also want to share a broad world view with my son and teach him that the world is bigger than just the US.
Favorite Movies So many favorites, for I am a movie fanatic! A representative list: Rob Roy, Pitch Black, Moulin Rouge, Adaptation, Man in the Iron Mask, Bad Moon, Jezebel, Starship Troopers, Jaws, The Lost Boys, Carmen: A Hip-Hopera, Cutaway, Life of Brian, Angel and the Badman, RKO 281, Touch of Evil, Bound, Evita, Dawn of the Dead, The Misfits, The Shawshank Redemption, Salem's Lot, The Shining, Godzilla
Favorite Music Alternative music as heard on Pittsburgh's 105.9 the X--I love the DJ's as much as the tunes! Social Distortion, The Clarks, Institute, Finger 11 just to name a few. I'm also a child of the eighties, so I like a dose of my old music now and then, like INXS, Depeche Mode and The Cure.
Favorite Books Writing Down the Bones by Natalie Goldberg The Novel by James Michener Works by Thomas Hardy, James Joyce, Henry James, Ernest Hemingway, P.D. James, Piers Anthony, Robert A. Heinlein I also love murder mysteries and the occasional Harlequin romance when in a sappy mood!
