Introduction Michael Farnworth is an aging explorer of the realities that imprison us in their sticky web of fear, ignorance and control. We do not live in reality we live in our paradigms. I am a retired college professor of family life and the dysfunctions that seem so pervasive in well intended families. I am fascinated by the cultural dysfunctions which create havoc in our intimate relationships. I am saddened by the exchange of our spiritual birthright of intimacy for the mess of pottage that addictive living brings. Family is the fertile soil that grows our soul and I know no one likes to hear of their own family dysfunctions. But unless we are courageous enough to confront our own self-protective denial systems we will be compelled to repeat the wounding process that occurred in our childhoods. There is much that weighs in the balance.
