Occupation Fitness Trainer
Location Portland, Maine, United States
Introduction Nate’s fitness journey began in 1994 when he ran his in his first competitive cross-country meet. He became hooked on running and was named co-captain of his high school cross-country and track teams, honors that taught him the definition of discipline and leadership. Nate went on to graduate from the University of Maine at Orono in 2004 and thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail the following spring. It was on this 2200-plus mile trek from Georgia to Maine that Nate learned how to push himself to his mental and physical limits. In 2007, Nate once again tested his mental and physical capabilities by training for and running in the Boston Marathon. In the spring of 2010, Nate became a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He has trained at several fitness facilities in the Greater Portland area where he also coaches track and field and cross-country. When he is not helping people better their lives he enjoys hiking, kayaking, fishing, camping, hunting, and running. He is competitive in a variety of road races throughout southern Maine and is also a competitive triathlete.
