| Introduction | A casual group of friendly people who meet at various locations in Pierce County, Washington to write. (Or edit. Whatever.) The Sockmonkeys trace their roots to NaNoWriMo, and preserve some of the spirit of NaNo all year: we welcome all skill and experience levels, aspirations, genres, et cetera. Usually we hang out for a few hours in a Starbucks or library meeting room, typing (or scribbling) and taking occasional breaks to chat and commiserate. We also offer each other online support via Facebook and a dedicated chat room. The Sockmonkey Writers Group is a fun, friendly, and above all informal space where we can encourage each other to make writing a daily habit. |
