| Interests | ACADEMIC INTERESTS: Media stereotypes, hegemony, civic engagement, nation building, race, class and gender issues, human geography, mass communications and deliberation. RESEARCH INTERESTS: Although I have wide-ranging interests as noted above, my research interests fall within the intersection between media stereotypes and minority youth. How do mediated stereotypes effect youth in terms of the perceptions of their future possible selves? Can interventions improve perceptions of future possible selves? PERSONAL INTERESTS: cooking, reading, walking, biking, traveling, movies, music...not necessarily in that order. |
