| Introduction | I have been happily married to the man of my dreams for 17+ years now. I was a stay at home mom for 5 years to our two boys who are 10 and 13. I have always enjoyed baking and always thought that birthday cakes had to be homemade to be special! I began decorating cakes as a hobby in 2003 for friends and family members. I was a full-time working mom, so without the benefit of decorating classes, I taught myself through a lot of trial and error (mostly errors to begin with!). There are many many helpful websites where I learned a lot of techniques. I am always willing to try something new! Actually, that is what I love about decorating cakes... it is always a new experience, and, although it is always challenging, I seem to have more fun each time. My husband and my boys love to be my taste testers, too! I often make cakes based on photos in magazines or online-- "borrowing" other's ideas. You are welcome to borrow mine as well. |
