Introduction When I first set out to write this blog, I thought it would be an interesting and fun way to connect with others and have a forum to discuss some of life's "closed doors" that initiated new "open windows". The idea was to share ideas and words of wisdom for people caught in the middle of a closed door, waiting for that window to open. However, in the recent past our family's life took a different turn and we have been going down a road we had not foreseen. Our middle son, Matthew, age 37, was diagnosed with a very rare cancer. He is married (Nicole) and is the father of our only grandson, Noah, who is now 11 years old. UPDATE: After six months of very aggressive chemotherapy, Matt has now been given the clearance to quit chemo and go on to a maintenance drug, which he will probably take for the rest of his life...but he will be able to resume "normal" life activities. We are so very thankful to God for His intervention in Matt's life. What a wonderful gift! We are all looking forward to great things in the New Year!!
