| Introduction | I was born in a little Canadian town called Prince George to a writer father and a mother with an overactive imagination, and grew up in Vancouver. The first time I walked into a library was the beginning of a torrid love affair with books, writing and the English language in general. I’ve been writing since the day I picked up a pencil - short stories, novels, screenplays, love letters, I’m-breaking-up-with-you-letters, articles, grocery lists, and now, due to peer pressure, blogs. I have earned my 99% wages via writing, teaching ESL, doing background work for film and TV, chauffeuring book authors, answering phones, scooping popcorn, delivering newspapers, and collecting empty soda cans.
