| Introduction | I was working as an architect in Philippines until I decided to migrate in Australia in 2005. Living in a new country is hardly a walk in the park. Work became my most important priority. In between my architectural job and free weekends, I rediscovered my love of art and painting. On some sleep-deprived nights or a boring afternoon, I would paint. In 2010, a painting workshop at the Adelaide Central School of Art started me on the road of soft pastel painting. I have not stopped since. Today, my work is inspired by the simple things around me including nature and places, flora and fauna, objects,and people as I endeavor to capture on paper both the beautiful and the plain and simple. Painting is my way to connect with people, things, and my surroundings. Painting helps me to know myself, and my own purpose. My works shows how I "see" my world. |
