| Introduction | Promising Pages collects and distributes new and gently used books, as wrapped presents to kids who have few, if any at home. We are a grassroots organization headquartered in Charlotte, NC. More than 60,000 kids in the Greater Charlotte area are growing up without books. Yet studies show, if a child is not exposed to books by the time he she enters formal schooling, the child is 3 to 4 times more likely to drop out of school in later years.
