| Introduction | I'm a Senior Solutions Architect, helping customers to design and implement their (PostgreSQL) database systems. Prior to that, for most of my career I was a database administrator. I was once described as “quite personable for a DBA”, which I decided to take as a compliment. I'm also doing a part time Computer Science PhD, and I'm very happy to bore anyone about it if they catch me at a party or, more likely, in the hallway track of a PostgreSQL or developer conference. Outside of the world of databases, I love cycling, mountain biking, skiing and spending time with my family and 2 rescue dogs (Comet and Shadow) in the mountains where I live. I've been promising myself for years that I'll start writing regular blog posts, but I always seem to have too much on my plate, and it hasn't happened yet, so please don't hold your breath. I at least try to keep up with publishing slides and recordings of my conference talks. |
