| Introduction | In 2006 I took what was supposed to be a year sabbatical, and went around the world. On that trip I fell in love with Southeast Asia and returned there after a brief stop over back in the States. I lived in Chiang Mai Thailand for a 15 months and taught English at a local university. I traveled throughout Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Viet Nam, and Indonesia. On a trip to South Korea in 2007, I made a five-day stop over in Shanghai, China. I was immediately seduced. I secured a position teaching at a university in Lingang New City, a suburb of Shanghai. I had a mind-blowing, heart opening, life changing 11 months in China. I left with none of my preconceptions about that most enigmatic country intact. In 2009, I returned to a much-changed United States. Today, i am a self-described digital scribe living in Palm Springs California. I do photography, writing, editing, event planning, and blogging. |
