Introduction	Bedross Der Matossian is a lecturer in Middle East History at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received his primary education at the Holy Translators School in the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem and is a graduate of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he began his graduate studies in the Department of Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Middle East History from Columbia University (2008). He frequently writes and lectures on the Armenians of Jerusalem.
