| Introduction | Mason-Rice Green Team Kids is an after-school environmental learning and action club for kids at Mason-Rice Elementary School who care about the environment and want to help make our community greener. |

| Interests | Our mission is to help students to become good stewards of the Earth and to empower them to take action on environmental issues. Our hope is - during the fall and winter - to cover the basics of key environmental issues that our world is facing today (for example, climate change, pollution, waste disposal, loss of biodiversity, deforestation), what is being done to address these issues, and what we - as individuals - can do. The meetings will generally be interactive and aim to foster discussion among the students. In the spring, we will help the students plan and implement a “campaign” within the Mason-Rice community to address a particular environmental issue of their choosing. There will also be opportunities for students to educate other students/parents and/or help recycling efforts at certain school-wide events in the winter and spring. |
