| Introduction | I've been around the block a couple of times. I spent four years in an orphanage and five in the Army. While still in high school, my English teacher told me I had creative writing talent. She insisted that I get my school essays published. I didn't buy into her accolades. And I stopped writing after high school. Then one day I remembered an important childhood event. When I was 10, my fifth grade English teacher accused me of copying a homework essay assignment from a book. (Actually, it was a silly, hastily written story about a couple of bank robbers involved in a high-speed car chase). My step parents were notified. Fortunately, my step-mother had been sitting nearby when I penned the thing and she bore witness on my behalf. Back then, I figured my ability to write a little was no big deal, considering how many books I read. It wasn't until about five years ago that I started a memoir. I'm still toying with it. I also write mostly light-fare and true story dramas. It beats me whether or not I have any real talent. Don't know, don't care. |
| Interests | I like to play tennis, punch and kick gym bags, dance, arm-wrestle as a hobby, long walks to nowhere, travel, (I've been to many countries). I read true crime books, and collect classic American and foreign films. |
| Favorite movies | My favorite American movie is "The Best Years of Our Lives" 1946, Wyler. My favorite foreign film is "Ikiru" 1952, Kurosawa. In a nutshell, I'm partial to the Drama genre. I tend to favor Japanese film making. |
| Favorite music | If given a choice regarding the quality of anything, whenever possible I always go for the best. So my choice of music is classical all the way. The Big Three being: Beethoven, Chopin, and Tchaikovsky. |
| Favorite books | My favorite books are far from the best books. Often times, the finest critically acclaimed literature (unlike movies) bores me. For now, I'll list four books that really stuck out for me: "Beam Me Up, Scotty" by Michael Guinzburg, "Dry" by Augusten Burroughs, "Johnny Got His Gun" by Dalton Trumbo, and "All Quiet on the Western Front" by Erich Maria Remarque. |
What's the best time you've ever had licking stamps?
After reading these silly random questions offered here, I'm impressed by anyone who answered one with absolute earnestness.
