| Introduction | I'm born and raised in San Diego, CA. I grew up aspiring to become a labor attorney. When law school wasn't what I expected I faced the existential angst that plagues so many of my peers: What do I want to be when I grow up? Helping people is ultimately what I hope to do with my life, and what better way to help others, myself, and the global community by teaching English in Romania through the Peace Corps? After 3 years in the amazing town of Târgu-Ocna teaching English to middle schoolers I came back to my home community of San Diego. I gave back to San Diego by serving at United Way of San Diego County as an AmeriCorps Volunteer Infrastucture Project Volunteer Coordinator. Now that my contract is up I'm taking advantage of this gap year before grad school to perform global acts of do-gooding, including visiting various United Ways around the world and offering my skills where they are needed. |
