| Introduction | I'm 42, married and now have two miraculous little boys after a long, hard struggle. My husband has secondary hypogonadism and produces no sperm naturally. I knew before getting married that conceiving wouldn't be easy, but never dreamed it would be as hard as it was. He took shots of pregnyl and menogon to stimulate sperm production for 3 years, and the best result we ever had was "the occasional motile sperm". First time around we did 8 fresh IVF/ICSI cycles and transferred 23 embryos, and had no single positive result until no.8, in May 2012. Our little boy was born in January 2013. His sibling proved just as difficult - 7 fresh IVFs and one FET did the job (with a couple of chemicals on the way), and little boy 2 was born in 2016. We have a tiny amount of sperm left over and are thinking about 2 more cycles, just in case our family is meant to have another member. |
