| Introduction | I've been a huge fan of Simple Minds since the beginning as I grew up 20mins outside off Glasgow. The first time I saw them was at Ayr Pavilion when they supported Magazine. After 30 years off support I eventually got to meet Jim at a gig in Newcastle. And it was the best 2 hours of my life. First we chatted together as the rest of the band rehearsed in front of us. Then Jim invited me for dinner where at my table was Jim Kerr, Charlie Burchill and Ged Grimes. With Mel Gaynor and Andy Gillispie at the table beside us. I really was an amazing experience and one I'll never forget. |
