| Introduction | Through the grace of God, sponsorship and the rooms of this program, I have been a grateful member of Al-Anon since August 8, 2004. At that time, I was struggling wih a protracted divorce and a son that was addicted to cocaine. My relationship with my daughters was strained and my son was at a wilderness-type rehab program in Utah. I felt alone, isolated and out of control. My God has a sense of humor, though. He helped me with my son and introduced me to this program by bringing another alcoholic into my life. Peggy and I met in April 2004 and were married on August 8, 2008 (my 4th Al-Anon Anniversary). If that's not enough, she celebrated her 28th AA Anniversary on my birthday last October 24. My son has had his struggles, but is sober today, in school and building his own business. I owe so much to these programs. Al-Anon has totally re-made my life and I thank AA each day for the lives of my wife and son. Just as the fundamental principle of AA is one alcoholic helping another, I believe that we do the same thing within the rooms of Al-Anon. My greatest hope for this site is that it can help us to further share our experience, strength and hope, one day at a time. |
